It’s no secret that these are challenging times for digital media. Nearly 2,000 news industry employees were laid off in the first half of this year—more than all of last year combined.

So far, Common Dreams has managed to survive without major layoffs, but if our Summer Campaign fundraising drive falls short, it could be the final blow that breaks us.

Bottom line: To meet our goal, we need to raise an additional $28,000 by midnight on September 1—and we can’t do it without you.
