After January 6th, even corporate America appeared to register that democracy faced one of its most precarious moments in our country’s history.
Many companies stepped up and promised to hold the Sedition Caucus (the 147 members of Congress who voted to overturn the 2020 election) accountable.
John, do you think they followed through? Since January 2021, CREW has tracked the promises companies made – and broke – and we have some not-so-shocking, but unfortunate, news:
More than two thirds of the corporations who announced they would no longer support the Sedition Caucus abandoned their commitment and continue to fund politicians who supported the Big Lie.
In fact, corporations have donated more than $83 million to the members of Congress who voted to overturn the 2020 election. How about some accountability for them?

We've been tracking all the companies that are donating to the "Sedition Caucus," choosing political influence over democracy defense. Here are some of them, and how much they are spending, boosting anti-democracy politicians:
Koch Industries: $1,385,500
AT&T: $950,900
Valero Energy: $780,000
Home Depot: $732,500
Delta: $385,000
Merck: $186,000
Eli Lilly: $135,500John, these are just a few.
Big corporations seem to think they can fund the Sedition Caucus and we'll all just forget about it. We haven't.
Accountability for the Big Lie includes Donald Trump facing trial for his efforts to overturn the 2020 election. We’re glad the trial in his federal case is set for early March and that that mechanism of legal accountability is proceeding swiftly.
But accountability for the Big Lie also means accountability for the 147 members of Congress who voted not to certify the 2020 election results, and for the corporations filling their campaign coffers.
