Reducing School Food Waste & Child Hunger

This bill permits a school to partner with a nonprofit to freeze leftover school food that was never served to send home with children who participate in a free or reduced price meals program.

• This bill addresses both sustainability (food waste) as well as low-income inequality (food access)
• This bill would allow for students to receive meals to take home over the weekend, a critical time that students need additional support
