John, We are preparing for one of the most grueling ground efforts for any campaign: petitioning. The petitioning process for a congressional race in New York State involves gathering thousands of signatures across the district in order to get your name on the ballot for Election Day. Our campaign will collect signatures over the next month in order to clear our petition threshold and get Lindsey's name on the ballot for the June primary election. If we don’t get enough signatures, it's game over. By door-knocking and street canvassing in high-traffic areas, we will obtain the signatures we need... all while continuing to reach out to voters and sharing Lindsey's vision for our community. I am proud of the outreach we have already begun in our district, and we can't wait to meet even more voters in the upcoming weeks!
In New York State, petitioning for the 2020 primary election begins today. We are lucky to have a strong volunteer network, but we have to account for expenses such as printing costs, office supplies, legal fees, and voter software. And — we are fully expecting our opponent to challenge our submitted petitions, which can become an expensive and arduous process. I have every confidence that, with your support, we will be successful in getting Lindsey's name on the ballot and ready for our final hurdle — to win in June! Sincerely, |
