Last week, when Donald Trump was arrested at the Fulton County Jail in Georgia, he tried to turn the moment into a spectacle.

A full motorcade. Timing the arrest during primetime television. Posting his mug shot as his return to Twitter.

It’s his classic media circus playbook — deflect and distract from the harsh reality: he is facing serious criminal charges for racketeering and conspiracy.

The evidence is strong: like the recorded phone call where he demanded the Georgia Secretary of State “find” 11,780 votes that didn’t exist.

Much of the evidence in the indictment comes from the January 6 Committee that I served on. John, I led the hearing that revealed much of the evidence that is the basis of Trump’s fourth indictment.

Now, Donald Trump is demanding special treatment in this trial — he didn’t want a mugshot (we know how that story ended).

And throughout this trial, he will certainly deflect and distract, trying to paint a different picture than the truth.

But inside the courtroom, it’s not going to be reality TV. It’s going to be the reality of the justice system.

And justice will be done.
