By Charlotte Hill

Here are some recent updates.
* Today, North Carolina Supreme Court Justice Anita Earls (D) sued ([link removed]) a state judicial oversight board. Earls says the board is investigating her for making First Amendment-protected comments on the lack of diversity in North Carolina state courts.
* Last Friday, five Republican state senators filed ([link removed]) a petition for judicial review in the Oregon Court of Appeals challenging an administrative rule ([link removed]) , passed by 68% of voters, that bars legislators, the plaintiffs included, with more than ten unexcused absences from running for reelection.
* Tennessee's new voting rights restoration policy ([link removed]) is effectively keeping 470,000 Tennesseans from regaining ([link removed]) the right to vote, with Black and brown voters comprising a disproportionate number of those disenfranchised.

Here’s what to expect tomorrow.
* The proposed orders are due ([link removed]) in a redistricting lawsuit over Florida’s 5th congressional district ahead of the judge’s decision on the case.
