The National Coalition for Housing Justice Calls on the Biden-Harris Administration to Stop Using Federal Police to Respond to Homelessness

The Alliance joins the National Coalition for Housing Justice to condemn the ongoing use of federal police to respond to homelessness.

This follows the shocking news that earlier this year, U.S. Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management police officers had made false claims against an unhoused family in Payette National Forest in Idaho, and then violently arrested them. During the arrest, a disabled member of the family was shot multiple times and now faces a lifetime of paralysis from the chest down.

The Framework for an Equitable Homelessness Response Launches Healthy Parents Healthy Babies

Healthy Parents Healthy Babies was established to document and disseminate strategies to reduce racial disparities, increase housing stability, and improve maternal health, birth outcomes, and child health associated with homelessness and extreme housing instability among women and families of color. The recommendations were developed by people with lived experience of homelessness and extreme housing instability when pregnant. They focus on how to improve birth, health, housing, and other outcomes for pregnant people, parents, and their children.
