This week, I am proud to celebrate the the 30th Annual Delta Days on Capitol Hill alongside my Sorors of the illustrious Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. Sorors from across the nation have joined together in Washington, DC to discuss policies and initiatives that impact our community.

I led a letter alongside 60+ of my Democratic colleagues to DHS Acting Secretary Chad Wolf to rescind the agency's xenophobic and racist decision to suspend the issuance of nearly all permanent visas for Eritrean, Kyrgyzstani, Burmese and Nigerian nationals, as well as the decision to end diversity visa eligibility for Sudanese and Tanzanian nationals. I also demanded the Department of Homeland Security briefs all Members of Congress on this matter immediately.
IN THE DISTRICT:
Last Thursday, I visited a DaVita Dialysis Center in Brooklyn, speaking with healthcare providers, thanking them for the important and vital work that they do.
Last week, I also conducted a training session with seniors on the upcoming 2020 Census and its importance in NY-09, one of the hardest-to-count districts in the United States.
I was honored to receive an award from Teamsters Local 237 last week. Thank you Local
237 for the honor and for all you do in our community!
Thanks Goldman Sachs for having me at the 10,000 Small Businesses Advocacy Clinic. We discussed the importance of supporting small businesses & taking measures to increase diversity, equity & inclusion— key issues that are vital to the success and growth of NY-09.
Proud to be joined by North Flatbush BID and Assemblywoman Tremaine Wright for my "Coffee with the Congresswoman" Series where we discussed strategies for growing and supporting our local small businesses.

- The hearing will examine practices in the live event ticketing marketplace, including key issues affecting consumers in the ticketing industry.
Subcommittee on Health Hearing on "The Fiscal Year 2021 HHS Budget and Oversight of the Coronavirus Outbreak"
- The purpose of this hearing is to examine the President’s fiscal year (FY) 2021 budget for the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), and to discuss the developing outbreak of the coronavirus and HHS’s response.
