The city of Austin can’t keep enough police officers to patrol the city as a result of the City Council voting to Defund the Police in 2020.

Crime in Austin has, unsurprisingly, skyrocketed. So Texas state troopers stepped in to provide additional law enforcement support.

… until last month, when the Mayor terminated the city’s agreement with Texas DPS.

The Austin Police Association says that, based on minimum staffing projections, the city is currently about 500 officers short.

Data shows that the presence of DPS troopers unequivocally made the city safer.

This was yet another attack on law enforcement by the city of Austin.

Let’s Make Austin Safe Again.
