John,
Trump steaks. Trump University. For decades, Donald Trump and scams have
fit together like a hand in a glove.
When he got into politics, Trump took his lifelong grift online, famously
using Facebook ads to spread misinformation and lies about Hillary Clinton
and other political rivals.
Trump was eventually kicked off of Facebook after January 6th, but
Facebook recently reinstated his account. Predictably, Trump is at it
again, this time using Facebook ads to smear prosecutors and spread lies
that his 91 criminal charges are part of some liberal conspiracy:

Trump's campaign has spent more than $60,000 in Facebook ads in the past
week.
[ [link removed] ]John, will
you chip in any amount before our August deadline to help us fight back
against Trump's lies? At COURIER, our innovative model delivers factual,
local journalism directly to communities vulnerable to Trump's
misinformation campaigns on Facebook.
Trump is hyper-focused on playing the victim right now for a lot of
reasons. First, he's terrified of going to prison. Second, his legal bills
are mounting, and Facebook ads help him raise the money he needs to pay
them.
The most unfortunate and disturbing reason is that spreading the lie that
he's the victim of a liberal conspiracy is good politics right now. Since
his first indictment, Trump's support among Republican primary voters has
skyrocketed.
John, it's
clear that Facebook isn't stepping up to stop Trump's lies, which means
our work at COURIER to correct the record is more important than ever.
Right now, our team of talented journalists is laser-focused on correcting
the record in online spaces like Facebook. With so much on the line for
the rule of law and our democracy, they are combating misinformation in
real time by providing communities with factual journalism they can trust.
But to keep our relevant, trustworthy journalism accessible for all, we
must reach our monthly fundraising goals. [ [link removed] ]Can you help power this vital
