John, do you have a moment? I wanted to take a second to reach out and explain why you may be hearing from my team more than usual this week.

At the end of this month, our team will face yet another critical deadline: Our August end-of-month fundraising deadline. And with only three days to go, we’re still running about $8,500 short of where we absolutely have to be.

I’ll explain more in a moment, but first: Is there any amount you’d be willing to chip in to our campaign before Thursday night? Every dollar we raise now allows us to reach that one extra person, knock that one extra door, and turn out that one extra vote that will make the ultimate difference next November.

Over the past few months the experts have weighed in on our race, and the verdict is clear: Our highly-competitive race is a pure toss-up.

In a race as competitive as ours, we can only win if we stick together. I know that from experience – last year, our race came down to the wire, and it was thanks to this people-powered team that I was able to defeat my radical opponent and ensure Northeast Ohio would have a true advocate in Congress.

The other side may have millions in dark money, but we have something they don’t: The grassroots power of folks like you who believe Northeast Ohio is worth fighting for.

That’s why I’m asking, John: Can I count on you to make a contribution before the month ends on Thursday night? We’re trying to raise $8,500, so any amount you can give will go a long way.
