John, it would be easy to be a conservative politician in Kentucky.

But that’s just not who I am. I’ll never compromise my values, even (and especially) when it’s difficult. Here are a few things I believe:

Abortion should be safe, legal, and accessible. Oppressive bans and restrictions weigh most heavily on marginalized communities.

Climate change is real. We need to be doing more to save our planet, and we’re running out of time to avert disaster.

Health care is a human right. Families shouldn’t have to choose between paying medical bills and putting food on the table.

We should be making it easier for people to vote, not more difficult. MAGA extremism is a threat to our very democracy, and we must fight it at every turn.

My progressive values make me a target for GOP attacks, but I know that you’ve got my back, John.
