Hello,
This isn’t the email we wanted to send, but unfortunately it’s the one we have to: We’re officially reducing our February fundraising goal from $500,000 to $425,000.
The goals we set in emails like this one are real, and we wanted to be honest with you about where we are right now.
You see, we rely 100% on grassroots donations from people like you to fund our grassroots movement to defeat Mitch McConnell. But with the Democratic presidential primary really heating up, we’ve been competing with the Sanders, Biden, Warren, Klobuchar, and Buttigieg campaigns for small-dollar donations, and our fundraising has really slowed down this month as a result.
That doesn’t mean we’re giving up: If we’re going to help Amy McGrath defeat Mitch McConnell and take back the Senate, we still need the resources to compete with the millions of dollars McConnell has taken from special interests and corporate PACs. And we absolutely cannot afford to fall short of this lowered goal now if we’re going to win:

When we defeat Mitch McConnell and finally end his political career, it’ll be because we did it together.
Thank you for being a critical part of our grassroots movement,
