Have you heard about the latest attacks on parental rights? As I write, California legislators are advancing a bill that could lead to parents being charged with child abuse if they don't support their child's wish to go through a so-called “gender transition.”

But California is hardly alone! From school curricula to gender laws, blue states seem to be competing for the most outlandish scheme to strip parents of their God-given right to direct the upbringing of their children.

You've probably had enough, and so have I!

That's why, as kids go back to school, Family Policy Alliance is launching a new, multifaceted initiative called Let Parents Parent.

Through Let Parents Parent, Family Policy Alliance is:

* Providing direct help to parents through our Back to School for Parents resource guide

* Advancing school choice policies that empower parents with more control over where their kids go to school

* Protecting kids from sexualized content in school curricula and libraries

* Continuing to advance Help Not Harm, Family Policy Alliance’s legislation to protect kids from transgender drugs and surgeries (now in 20 states and counting)

* Continuing the push to Save Girls’ Sports, the movement our team launched in 2020 in Idaho (now in 23 states and counting)

I’m writing today to ask you to stand with Family Policy Alliance as, together, we fight on behalf of parents and their kids.

Here’s the work that you’ll be making possible:

> Legislative Engagement. The FPA policy and communications teams work closely with our Statesmen (state legislators) and the leaders of our allied state family policy councils. We draft legislation, train and consult on messaging and strategy, and mobilize pro-family citizens to speak up to elected officials on these issues.

You probably heard about the Florida law that protects young children from sexualized content and requires curriculum transparency for parents.

After supporting Florida in its public battle with Disney over that law, our team is assisting other states in passing the same protections.

We're also helping states…

* prohibit sexually explicit material from being provided to children in school libraries (now law in two states)

* stop drag queen performances for children (now law in four states)

* require parents to be notified if their child is identifying as “transgender”

* expand school choice options for parents (various options now in 34 states)

And together with our state allies, we are fighting outrageous bills from the Left—such as bills that allow states to take legal custody of out-of-state children in order to perform abortions or gender transitions on them.

In any other circumstance, that would be considered kidnapping!

> Resources for Parents. Your support also allows Family Policy Alliance to help parents navigate complex challenges in schools, especially through our Back to School for Parents resource guide. It walks parents through situations their child may encounter in classrooms, health clinics, locker rooms, sports teams, student-run clubs, libraries and much more. It includes state by state details and many resources, including sample letters to send to schools.
