I am horrified, friend.

Two mass shootings less than 24 hours apart. My heart is still heavy thinking about all the lives we lost this weekend. I grieve with the El Paso and Dayton communities devastated by senseless gun violence.

I grew up in El Paso. My heart is especially heavy for this community.

Our nation can’t take another mass shooting. The American people deserve to feel safe at school, walking down the street, going to the movies, shopping at grocery stores, and attending religious services.

The Democratic majority in the House has sent Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell TWO gun reform bills to close loopholes and establish universal background checks. But McConnell has refused a vote on either.

How many more people must die before the Senate says enough is enough? Every day that Mitch McConnell refuses to act on gun safety reforms, more lives will be lost. Thoughts and prayers aren’t enough — it’s time to act.

That’s why I need you to sign my petition demanding McConnell bring senators back from recess and vote to end the gun violence epidemic before any more lives are lost.

Trump’s racism is dividing our country. He is enabling white supremacist terrorism, and his hateful words and actions are making our country less safe for everyone.

Just three months ago, Trump said we were being "invaded" by immigrants. The only thing invading this country is the fear and hate this president is pushing.

The El Paso shooter posted an anti-immigrant manifesto online before his horrible attack. Some immigrants hurt in the El Paso shooting might even be avoiding the hospital for fear of deportation.

This is the culture Trump and Republicans have created. One that enables mass shootings and white supremacist attacks.

Too many innocent lives have been taken. Demand Senate Republicans pass critical gun reforms now.

Trump has ignored the cries for help from everyone affected by the gun violence epidemic. He’s quick to blame video games and mental illness for these tragedies, but never himself. But we know better.
