Hung Cao, the failed Congressional candidate from 2022 who is now running for Senate against Tim Kaine in 2024, appeared on Steve Bannon’s War Room podcast to call for cuts to our nation’s defense budget -- an odd choice for a person who wants to represent Virginia. 

Putting aside Cao’s extreme views on women’s reproductive rights (he compared abortion to the Holocaust), his plan to gut Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security, and his vocal sympathy for the Jan. 6 insurrectionists, his views on defense spending should disqualify him as a candidate from representing Virginia’s interests in the U.S. Senate. 

Here’s the bottom line: If Hung Cao is elected to the Senate, he would make our country less safe, to say nothing of what he’d do in terms of slashing jobs and funding for Virginia’s military families. 

With national Republicans coalescing around Cao’s candidacy, we need to fight back by supporting Tim Kaine.  Will you pitch in $25 or more to help Tim reach his end-of-August fundraising goal, and build a campaign strong enough to withstand GOP attacks from Cao and others in 2024?
