Dear Mr. xxxxxx,
I wanted to pass along my latest update on what I have been doing to fight for you, Texas’ 21st Congressional district, and our country as a whole:
Protecting our veterans’ freedom
While our border burns and our economy spirals, the Left continues to make targets out of our veterans – especially their Second Amendment rights.
That’s why I reintroduced the Defending Veterans' Second Amendments Rights Act to protect our veterans from being put on the Department of Justice’s no gun list. Unfortunately, many veterans fear that if they seek care or benefits for mental health issues at the VA they might risk losing their constitutional right to bear arms.
No veteran should be discouraged from seeking the benefits that they have rightfully earned in the defense of our republic.
Not only are veterans’ Second Amendment rights being targeted, but they aren’t receiving the quality and accessible health care they deserve. All too often, veterans are forced to wait to receive the medical care they have earned. They put their lives on the line for our freedom, so they should have nothing less than the complete freedom to control their care. That’s why I have reintroduced the Veteran Access to Direct Primary Care Act to grant veterans access to more health care options.
Biden and Mayorkas are failing Americans
No border security, no funding – it’s that simple. When Congress is back in session, Republicans must hold the Department of Homeland Security and the Biden administration accountable for their dereliction of duty. Our southern border is under attack, but instead of helping with the border crisis, the Biden administration is working against the State of Texas and Governor Abbott. Congress should not be funding an agency that is at war with the American people – let’s hold the line and demand accountability.

No more business as usual
The House GOP needs to make deals that win for the American people, not deals that cause them to suffer. It is past time to go on offense. Frivolous spending of taxpayer dollars must stop.
When Congress is back in session, we need to hit the ground running with bills that work for Americans, not against them. I was proud to stand with my Freedom Caucus colleagues in putting out our official position on that matter.
