John — there are a lot of different things our team takes into consideration when setting our fundraising goals each month.
We think about how much we’ve already raised. If there’s a major holiday, we think about how it’ll impact our fundraising. And of course we think about our budget, and all the things we need to build a winning campaign — like getting organizers on the ground, putting ads online + on TV, and reaching voters all across the state.
But then, there are things we can’t control — like last month, when we learned that a group of GOP mega-donors + corporate elites put over $1 MILLION into a brand new Super PAC to fund attacks against Lucas.
National Republicans have made Missouri’s U.S. Senate race one of their top targets in 2024 because they know Lucas, and our people-powered movement, have what it takes to defeat Josh Hawley next year. So now, we need to kick it up a notch if we’re going to fight back, elect Lucas, and take this Senate seat back for working people.
That’s why this month, we’re setting our most ambitious end-of-month goal yet: 25,000 individual donations raised by the end of August.
We’re already about 96% of the way there. But with only a couple days left, we need all hands on deck — so I’m asking everyone reading this email to donate $10 or whatever you can afford toward our goal today. Can we count on you, John?
