BOE: Bottom of EmailDear John,
If the Declaration of Independence contains the ideals upon which our country was founded, then the U.S. Constitution represents how the Founders implemented those ideals. Each year on Constitution Day, the United States commemorates the creation and signing of the Constitution by the Founders and other delegates on Sept. 17, 1787. The country also recognizes all individuals who were born in the U.S. or became naturalized citizens.
The Bill of Rights Institute celebrates Constitution Day with a live discussion on our YouTube channel
about constitutionally-themed topics. This year, we discuss the value of engaging with multiple viewpoints, the nature of good reflection, the importance of choice in a democracy, the role students and citizens play in our communities, and how we can direct the future of our country through our constitutional system.
Visit our Constitution Day Live page for more information on our event, which will be held from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. ET on Friday, Sept. 15. We hope you can join us! |
