About Yoav Kisch 

Yoav Kisch (born on 6 December 1968) is a MK in the 20th Knesset for the Likud. He served as a combat pilot in the Air Force, Lieutenant Colonel (Res.). Following his release from the IDF, he focused on ventures and setting up startups in a range of sectors. He then flew as pilot for El-Al Boeing 777 until he entered politics.

Kisch was born and raised in Tel-Aviv. He attended Handasaim High School in Ramat-Aviv. Following his studies, he volunteered in a pilot’s course in the Air Force. Kisch holds a MBA from INSEAD University in Fontainebleau, France.

Kisch is the grandson of Brigadier General Frederick Kisch, a Zionist leader and a commander of the British Engineering Forces in North Africa during World War II.

Kisch’s father, Lieutenant Colonel (res.) Michael (Mike) Kisch, served during the Yom Kippur War as an engineering officer in the Southern Command.

On his mother’s side, Kisch is a descendant of Rabbi Shmuel Salant, Chief Rabbi of Jerusalem.

Kisch has been a member of the Likud for over 15 years, and has spearheaded a social agenda in the spirit of Jabotinsky’s The Five. Prior to his election to the Knesset, Kisch had been leading the reservists' protests for equal sharing of the military and civil service. He even served as public representative in the Plesner Committee for Equality in National Service and for the formulation of an alternative law to the Deferment of Service for Yeshiva Students for Religious Reasons Law (Tal Law).

Prior to the elections for the 19th Knesset, Kisch ran on a protected slot for the Gush Dan representative on the Likud list but only reached second place in the district and gained an unrealistic position.

Ahead of the elections for the 20th Knesset, Kisch ran again, and earned the 19th spot on the Likud list for the Knesset.

The first draft law submitted by Kisch supported raising the employment rate for people with disabilities in public service to 5% of all employees.

Among Kisch’s roles in the Knesset – Chair of the Subcommittee for Personnel in the IDF, Chair of the Subcommittee on Space and member of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, the Science and Technology Committee and the Special Committee for the Rights of the Child. The Joint Committee for the Defense budget and other committees. On 30 May 2016,

Kisch was appointed Chair of the House Committee.

Kisch also chaired the Lobby for Standing Army and Reserve Soldiers, the Lobby for the Unity of the Nation, the Lobby for the Rising Cost of Living in Israel, the Lobby for the LGBT Community, the Lobby for the Advancement of the Start-Up in Israel, the Lobby for Eretz Israel in the Knesset, the Lobby for Rare Diseases and Orphan Diseases, the Lobby for Growth Companies in Israel and member of other lobbies.

Yoav Kisch heads the Israel-South Africa, Israel-Botswana, Israel-Nigeria and Israel-Zambia Parliamentary Friendship Groups as well as the Israel-Britain and Israel-Georgia Parliamentary Friendship Groups.

Kisch is married to Hagit and the father of three. He lives in Ramat-Gan.
