As Trump and extreme Republicans dominate the national headlines, Politico
called our summer strategy "gold" for earning TONS OF LOCAL HEADLINES and
TV segments on one of the most popular economic issues around: Fighting
surprise "junk" fees.
Local ABC, CBS, NBC, and even FOX carried our message that these abusive
fees cost the average family hundreds or thousands of dollars each year on
everything from airline tickets to bank accounts to rent applications.
Overdraft fees, medical bills, Taylor Swift tickets…they go on and on.
The AP reports "more than a dozen House Democrats around the country" held
"events organized with help from the Progressive Change Institute to
promote the administration’s effort to curb junk fees" in Detroit,
Pittsburgh, Raleigh, Las Vegas, and many other places!
Politico reports, "The high volume of local news coverage of the events
has surprised White House officials."
