Dear John,

DC's rent control laws are failing us. If the DC Council reauthorizes the current bare-bones legislation without adopting the Reclaim Rent Control platform, the DC Council will once again be voting against tenants. Join the Reclaim Rent Control coalition this Saturday to show Ward 1 Council member Brianne Nadeau what we really want—better, stronger rent control now!

Ward 1 Wants Better Rent Control!
⏰ Saturday (Feb 29) at 3:30 PM
📍 3435 Holmead Pl NW, Washington, DC 20010
RSVP

The event will be at 3435 Holmead Place NW, a rent-controlled building whose current conditions show just how inadequate current rent control laws are. Residents have been on rent strike since December against bad conditions (mice, bed bugs, mold) and bad management (UIP). CM Nadeau will get a tour from residents—let's rally with them to show her that her entire ward supports them and wants her to introduce a better bill, now!

Be sure to also sign the petition to Reclaim Rent Control! By signing the petition you are joining a broad coalition of community groups, tenants and progressive advocates calling for the DC Council to use the upcoming reauthorization of the rent control laws as an opportunity to expand and strengthen rent control in order to protect the affordable housing we already have as well as drastically increase the number of units protected by rent control. See you on Saturday!
