John - on the heels of the GOP debate, Vivek Ramaswamy has (unfortunately) successfully garnered the attention of the media with his outlandish commentary and dystopian policy positions.
On the Sunday talk shows...
Sunday, on Meet the Press, Ramaswamy:
- downplayed the impact of racism, gun violence, and the rhetoric peddled by the rightwing -leaned into the common talking point of "mental illness" without any solutions and, in his debate appearance, blamed anti-depressants for more mental health issues. - stood behind the notion that Mike Pence could have disrupted the 2020 election and somehow restarted the election in a day
- argued against the use of electronic ballot machines and only same-day voting (note: he did this while admitting during the pandemic he, in fact, voted by mail.)
On CNN, he doubled down on his previous comments that compared a black Congresswoman (Ayanna Pressley) to a grand wizard of the KKK.
Help us fight back!
Ramaswamy is one of the many examples of the GOP offering up iterations of Donald Trump and his desperate power grabs that will ultimately disenfranchise voters and punish the working-class.
