MEDIA ADVISORY: Gov. Justice and First Lady Justice to welcome Friends With Paws therapy dog at Greenbrier East High School tomorrow at 10:00 a.m.

WHO: Gov. Jim Justice, First Lady Cathy Justice, Greenbrier County School Superintendent Jeff Bryant, Greenbrier East High School Principal Ben Routson, Greenbrier County School Board Members, and local officials.
WHAT: Gov. Justice and First Lady Justice will introduce Ruby, a female Golden Retriever, who is the thirteenth therapy dog to be placed as part of their Friends With Paws initiative.
The Friends With Paws program is a partnership between the Governor’s Office, the West Virginia Communities In Schools (CIS) Nonprofit, and the West Virginia Department of Education. Therapy dogs are placed in schools within CIS counties where students are disproportionately affected by poverty, substance misuse, or other at-risk situations, and are in the greatest need of a support animal. The dogs serve as a healthy and friendly outlet for these students to address trauma and other social-emotional issues.
