John,
The National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which is historically just a large Pentagon handout, has now been tarnished with an even darker stain: the divisive MAGA ideology which has taken over the House of Representatives.
Not only has it been praised by far-right extremists like Rep. Lauren Boebert, it is also riddled with policies driven not by a genuine commitment to national defense, but by their hateful political agenda.
The latest House version of the NDAA curtails women's rights by enacting abortion limits, pulls back on military diversity equity and inclusion initiatives, blocks education on our nation's racial past, and goes even further by marginalizing the LGBTQ+ community while overlooking the urgent threat of climate change.
These divisive policies, steeped in bigotry, racism, and transphobia, threaten to erode the social fabric of our nation, alienate communities that have long sought equality and representation, and undermine our commitment to addressing global challenges.
Let's band together and push back against this insidious attack. Send a letter to President Biden urging him to veto an NDAA that contains these harmful provisions.
This shift in the bipartisan nature of the NDAA is a reflection of the MAGA agenda, which is based on division and regression. They want to divide the populace, promote exclusion, and prioritize narrow interests over collective well-being.
Their rhetoric, laced with bigotry, racism, and unfounded conspiracy theories, is not about uplifting the nation but about consolidating power and pushing a self-serving agenda.
Such an agenda doesn't just harm targeted groups; it weakens the fabric of our society and diminishes our standing on the global stage. A nation built on the ideals of liberty, equality, and the pursuit of happiness should staunchly resist any agenda that threatens these principles.
Our strength as a nation has always been rooted in our ability to evolve, learn from our past, and embrace diversity in every form, the exact opposite of the exclusionary and regressive vision propagated by MAGA extremists.
Now, more than ever, it's imperative that our leadership reflects this understanding. Tell President Biden to veto any NDAA filled with MAGA hate and harmful policy.
Let’s keep fighting for a united, progressive future for all.
