Your voice is needed: Join the fight against property discrimination!

Dear John,

It's a critical moment for the rights of immigrants in our country. Florida has already passed a law echoing the darkest echoes of our history, imposing "alien land laws" that threaten the rights of individuals based on their ancestral country. This misguided approach is now gaining traction at the federal level, but we have one last chance to mobilize to block “the Rounds Amendment” from becoming U.S. law.

History has shown us the devastating effects of such discriminatory laws, from the post-9/11 targeting of Middle Eastern American communities to the internment of Japanese Americans during World War II. We've seen these moments where cries of "national security" become excuses for racist and harmful policies. We can and must change the narrative, but we need your voice.

Join our grassroots coalition call on Tuesday, September 12, at 6pm ET/3pm PT.

We’ll dive deep into the current landscape, understand the challenges, and, most importantly, learn how you can make a significant impact. We're honored to host Texas State Representative Gene Wu, who helped defeat Texas’ alien land law proposal, to offer his insights.

NIAC will be joined by  Asian Americans Advancing Justice (AAJC) and the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA). We've been on the front lines, tracking these bills and fighting back. The success in Texas, where grassroots efforts narrowly blocked a reckless bill, underscores the power of collective action.

What to expect:

  • An in-depth analysis of the alien land laws.

  • Strategies on how to engage and counter these measures.

  • A platform to ask questions and share concerns during a Q&A segment.

RSVP Here for zoom linkWhile today's outcome is disappointing, our work does not stop here. Together we can turn this short-term setback into a long-term victory.

As advocates, we are united not by race or national origin but by democratic principles and the promise of America. Let's defend the dream together.

In solidarity,
