John,

Six months ago today, we made history. After securing a Democratic majority for the first time in over a decade, I was — and continue to be — so honored to serve our Commonwealth as the first woman Speaker of the Pennsylvania State House. 

In the months since, House Democrats and I have demonstrated why we need Democrats and women in power — when we’re in power, Pennsylvanians are better off.

But right now, the House is tied. As Speaker, I’m on the frontlines of the fight to defend our majority, and I need your help. Ahead of my end-of-month fundraising deadline, will you chip in to support my fight to protect our Democratic State House?

Under my leadership, our Democratic majority has focused on delivering for Pennsylvanians. Here are some personal highlights from my speakership so far:

• SB 8, which requires insurance companies to cover the cost of preventative screenings for women at high risk for breast cancer. This bill was signed into law, and it will save lives.
• The PA Fairness Act to extend protections from discrimination to LGBTQ+ Pennsylvanians to protect our LGBTQ+ neighbors and make it clear that there is no room for hate here.
• HB 950, which enshrines rights for all workers in our Commonwealth’s constitution and prohibits other laws from hurting collective bargaining rights. 
• HB 714, which expands background checks to help keep guns away from individuals who shouldn’t have them, and HB 1018, which empowers loved ones and law enforcement to remove guns from the possession of people in crisis. 
• The CROWN Act to prohibit discrimination based on hair type, texture, or style at work and in schools. 
• A budget that makes every public school student in Pennsylvania eligible for free breakfast. 

All of what we’ve accomplished so far is a testament to why our wins matter and why we must continue protecting our majority — not for partisan political wins, but so that we can deliver real, tangible change for our Commonwealth.
