I’ll be upfront with you: in a moment I’ll be asking you to make a grassroots $3 contribution to our campaign to flip California’s 27th District blue. But before I do, let me explain why your support matters so much right now:
- First, Rep. Mike Garcia has to go. To name just a few examples, my opponent recently voted to give himself a raise, and has been praised by the likes of Rep. Matt Gaetz and even Donald Trump himself, and voted to restrict safe and trusted abortion medication nationwide. He’s proven unfit to represent the people of CA-27.
- Second, CA-27 could determine who controls the House majority. Our race will likely be one of most closely-watched in the state of California, and frankly, in the entire country. We’re being called a “toss up” and elections experts predict that control of Congress will likely come down to competitive races in California, including ours.
- Finally, attacks are coming our way. Kevin McCarthy and his allies recently announced they’re investing millions of dollars to attack me – and fellow Democrats in California – as part of their “Blue States Project.” It’s clear McCarthy believes that defending this seat is key to keeping the gavel.
Those are just three of the many reasons why we’re really hoping to ramp up our grassroots fundraising before the end of the month.
As it stands, we’re not quite halfway to our goal of raising $15,000 by the end of August. We can make up for lost ground if all of our core supporters chip in just $3. So if you can, will you send in a contribution today?
