Twenty-five years ago, there were no 24/7 crisis lines to meet the needs of LGBTQ young people. We set out to change that reality. The Trevor Project was born, and ever since the first night of calls in August of 1998, we’ve been there to provide affirmation and support to LGBTQ young people.

From the start, we’ve provided a lifeline for LGBTQ young people through our crisis services. Over the years, we’ve worked to sustain a welcoming online community through TrevorSpace, provide education and training to supportive adults, and shape public policy and legislation.
