Stella Pekarsky for Virginia State Senate District 36.
Stella is running against an anti-choice Republican who works with “pro-life pregnancy resource centers.”
Here’s how Stella compares to her opponent:
“I am 100% pro-choice and will always fight for the right to access reproductive healthcare. I will support public funding at any level to expand access as much as possible. It is critical that all Virginians have access to these services and I plan to make accessing reproductive health care as easy as possible through public funding.”
This senate seat has never before been held by a woman. Considering all that is at stake, we must help elect Stella. Please rush a donation today →
Crystal Varner Parker for School Board in the Fairfield District of Henrico County, VA.
From Crystal, “The seat that I am running for has only been held by men, and none of the seats on this board have ever been held by an Asian American. As an Asian American and Native American woman running against four men, I want to see that the voices of women in this district and the voices of other minorities are heard and represented on the school board.
I have been active in the schools serving on various committees, and I am a trusted voice of families and educators. My first goal and focus in this race is to address teacher and staff retention to ensure we are able to continue recruiting and retaining talented educators and staff. In a time where we are facing critical teacher shortages, this is a top priority.”
Katrina Callsen for the Virginia House of Delegates, District 54.
Here are Katrina’s priorities:
-
Women’s Rights: Katrina will work to ensure that all legislation and policies take into account the needs and perspectives of women. She cites the intersection of gender and race, the impact of caregiving responsibilities on women's careers, and the need for affordable childcare.
-
Common Sense Gun Legislation: Katrina is committed to finding common-sense solutions that will protect our families and our communities. She also plans to work to address underlying issues that contribute to gun violence, such as poverty, mental health, and domestic violence.
-
Education: Her platform outlines plans to invest in public education, expand access to higher education, and support teachers and school staff.
-
Affordable Housing: Access to affordable housing is a fundamental human right, and Katrina believes that every Virginian deserves a safe and affordable place to call home.
-
Promoting Environmental Justice: Katrina is committed to protecting the environment, promoting social justice, and safeguarding public health.
