Unions march on at 60th anniversary March on Washington
|
On Saturday, August 26, labor leaders and union workers from across the country came together with a united movement for justice at 60th Anniversary March on Washington.
"This fight for racial justice and economic justice are one and the same," said AFL-CIO president Liz Shuler at the event. "Because [Dr. King] knew that justice does not exist without a good job."
Many of Metro Washington Council's affiliate unions showed up in power for this event, including ATU, 1199 SEIU United Healthcare Workers East, APWU, NNU, and WTU. Together we march on.
