How Ron DeSantis is Using Bribery To Gain Support For His Presidential Campaign
Loomer: Hey, everybody. Welcome to a new episode of Loomer Unleashed. I'm your host, Laura Loomer.
Loomer: And on today's episode, we're going to talk about how the only people who appear to be supporting Ron DeSantis' presidential campaign are people whose support he literally had to pay for.
Loomer: Now, we all know that Iowa is one of the most important states that a GOP candidate for president must win if they want to secure the GOP nomination for president.
Loomer: That is why you've been seeing a lot of the GOP presidential candidates spending a lot of time in Iowa lately.
Loomer: Recently, Tucker Carlson hosted the first GOP presidential forum of the election season.
Loomer: The Forum took place in Iowa, and it was put together by a group called the Family Leader in conjunction with Blaze TV.
Loomer: CEO and president of the Family Leader is a guy by the name of Bob Vander Plaats.
Loomer: Bob Vander Plaats likes to view himself as one of Iowa's leading evangelical Christian leaders, and he also happens to be a three time failed gubernatorial candidate in Iowa, having unsuccessfully run for governor in 2002, 2006, and 2010.
Loomer: But despite being rejected by Iowa voters three times in his bid for governor, Vander Plaats seems to think that he understands what GOP voters in Iowa want and what they're really thinking and what they really want to see in their GOP candidate for president.
Loomer: And if anything is clear, it's the fact that Bob Vander Plaats is completely out of touch with what Iowa GOP voters want.
Loomer: Let's look at who he supported in 2015. Vander Plaats endorsed Ted Cruz for president over Donald Trump in 2016.
Loomer: Vander Plaats has a history of spewing anti-Trump rhetoric.
Loomer: Just take a look at this tweet he posted in 2016 in which he said. “Great job by Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz for exposing Donald Trump. Donald Trump is unprepared and unelectable.”
Loomer: Well, Vander Plaats sure ended up eating his words because Donald Trump was certainly electable and went on to serve four years as the greatest president of the United States this country has ever seen.
Loomer: And now as the 2024 presidential election season heats up, Vander Plaats is back to spewing his anti-Trump rhetoric and is supporting candidates who are not Donald Trump.
Loomer: In a July 14th interview with CBS News, Vander Plaats said that Ron DeSantis was the clear alternative to Donald Trump. July 14th happened to be the same exact day that this forum hosted by the Family Leader took place in Iowa.
Loomer: Why does this matter? And why is it of significance that Vander Plaats is supporting Ron DeSantis? Well, what Vander Plaats didn't disclose to the public and what was not disclosed to the American people and was certainly never told to the people of Iowa and attendees of this forum was the fact that on July 3rd, Vander Plaats organization, the Family Leader, received a $50,000 political contribution from the Never Back Down Super PAC.
Loomer: And of course, the Never Back Down Super PAC is the official presidential PAC supporting Ron DeSantis’ presidential campaign.
Loomer: Now, Ron DeSantis wasn't the only GOP presidential candidate who attended this forum in Iowa. Donald Trump decided not to attend for good reason, to which he received a lot of negative criticism for it .
Loomer: Republican leaders and TV pundits said that Donald Trump was making a mistake by choosing not to attend this forum.
Loomer: But it looks like Donald Trump made the right decision because, after all, why would Donald Trump want to attend a rigged forum in which the host, Bob Vander Plaats, failed to disclose the fact that he received a $50,000 campaign contribution from the Never Back Down Super PAC just 11 days before hosting this forum with Ron DeSantis.
Loomer: That is the very definition of a conflict of interest and unethical behavior.
Loomer: You see, Ron DeSantis is desperate to make it seem like he has original, organic grassroots support on the ground in Iowa.
Loomer: And that's because Ron DeSantis is not doing so well in the polls. Recent polls conducted this week show that Donald Trump has a nearly 27 point lead over Ron DeSantis in the state of Iowa.
Loomer: And of course, Ron DeSantis is continuing his pander tour to Iowa voters. And he even said that he would consider choosing Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds as his running mate to be VP. But that's not going to happen because we all know Ron DeSantis isn't going to win the GOP primary because Donald Trump is trouncing him. And his poll numbers continue to plummet every single day that he continues to take jabs at Donald Trump and further alienate the America First MAGA base that is with Donald Trump.
Loomer: The GOP base recognizes that Donald J. Trump is the leader of the Republican Party and he is entitled to the second term that was stolen from him in 2020.
Loomer: But despite his dwindling poll numbers, both Ron DeSantis himself and the Never Back Down Super PAC, who are clearly illegally coordinating with each other, are determined to try to gain more support for Ron DeSantis in Iowa.
Loomer: Recently, the Never Back Down Super PAC announced that they are going to be purchasing a seven figure ad buy to run anti-Trump attack ads on television throughout Iowa.
Loomer: But their TV ad rollout is already backfiring tremendously, because it turns out Iowa voters aren't a fan of artificial intelligence.

Loomer: You see, the Ron DeSantis for president campaign can't operate in good faith or off of Ron DeSantis’ own policy positions, which are subpar compared to President Trump's. So they have to resort to false attacks and literal artificial intelligence manipulation. The TV ad that Ron DeSantis’ Never Back Down Super PAC decided to run features an artificially enhanced voice that is a robotic version of President Trump's voice reading a Truth Social post in which President Trump criticized Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds for claiming that she was going to remain neutral in the primary between Ron DeSantis and Donald Trump, even though she has clearly demonstrated favorable bias towards Ron DeSantis.
Loomer: You don't have to be a high paid senior political consultant or adviser to know that you're not exactly going to win political favor with Midwesterners like the good old people of Iowa by running fake and artificially enhanced television ads attacking Donald Trump.
Loomer: You see, Ron DeSantis can't run on his own record. He has no strong policies. And this is a guy who owes his entire political career to Donald Trump. So the only thing that Ron DeSantis can do in order to try to gain support for his failing presidential campaign is lie about President Trump.
Loomer: The more people get to know Ron DeSantis, the more they dislike him and the more he shows his face on the campaign trail, the more he plummets in the polls.
Loomer: Now, Ron DeSantis likes to brag about the fact that he raised $20 million since filing to run for president, But all the money in the world isn't going to be enough money to buy him the personality transplant that he so desperately needs if he wants to gain any traction over President Donald Trump and relate to voters across the country.
Loomer: But this isn't stopping the Never Back Down PAC from shoving Ron DeSantis down the throats of Iowa voters. They recently announced that in addition to their seven figure ad buy with ads that are going to be attacking Donald Trump, they also plan on hosting Governor Ron DeSantis as their “special guest” for an Iowa bus tour. Yes, really. They're hosting him as their special guest.
Loomer: Why? Because Ron DeSantis has burned through a majority of his campaign cash and he can't afford to host his own campaign funded bus tour throughout Iowa. And so now in another act of illegal coordination between a Super PAC and a presidential campaign, the Super PAC, Never Back Down, is footing the bill for Ron DeSantis campaign activities in the state of Iowa.
Loomer: Highly unethical, highly illegal. Total FEC violation.
Loomer: Whether it's illegal coordination with the Super PAC or blatant bribery, as we see in the case of Never Back Down giving $50,000 to Bob Vander Plaats just days before this GOP presidential forum in Iowa where Ron DeSantis participated, it's pretty clear that Ron DeSantis has racked up numerous campaign finance violations.
Loomer: But the question is, when is Ron DeSantis going to be held accountable? It's not that he doesn't think that he's above the law. Ron DeSantis seems to know that he is above the law, which is just reminiscent of his behavior as governor of Florida. This is a guy who changed Florida's resign to run laws so that he could keep his job as governor on taxpayer dime and also run for president.
Loomer: This is a guy who urged the Florida legislature to pass legislation to conceal his travel records so that Florida taxpayers can't see how much of their tax money is going towards Ron
DeSantis’ travel. And we don't get to see who he's traveling with while he's supposed to be governor, but is campaigning as an absentee governor for president full time.
Loomer: Everything about Ron DeSantis and his presidential campaign lacks transparency, and it's all transactional. The guy is incapable of actually earning organic support for his presidential campaign. And so you see that the only people who are supporting him are literally people who are paid to support him. Whether it's Bob Vander Plaats receiving $50,000 from Never Back Down or Paul Renner, the Florida speaker of the House, who received a $1 million payday from Ron DeSantis’ PAC just days after the Florida legislature announced that they had passed the amendment to change Florida's resign to run law, which is what Ron DeSantis needed to be changed in order to officially run for president under Florida law.
Loomer: Bribery is icky. Bribery is unethical. Bribery is illegal. But it seems like Ron DeSantis has made bribery a key focal point of his presidential campaign and a key part of his political strategy. Since we all know that Ron DeSantis has no chance in hell of beating President Donald Trump if he actually runs an ethical, clean and legal campaign.
Loomer: There are many such cases throughout the United States political history of candidates who raised and spent hundreds of millions of dollars or even close to $1 billion in their failed efforts to become president of the United States.
Loomer: Whether it's Hillary Clinton or Michael Bloomberg, who spent over $700 million in his failed attempt to become president of the United States, or Jeb Bush, who spent hundreds of millions of dollars and couldn't even beat President Donald Trump in a primary.
Loomer: Money doesn't necessarily guarantee somebody the nomination. So Ron DeSantis has a serious problem because while his Wall Street and big globalist establishment uniparty donors are more than happy to keep flushing him with hundreds of millions of dollars in their effort to get Donald Trump, their money is not enough to make Ron DeSantis likable for the GOP voters.
Loomer: So expect to see more bribery and dirty tricks as this political season progresses. Because as we have seen and as I have clearly shown you, with all of these receipts, Ron DeSantis just doesn't have what it takes to become president of the United States in a legal way.
Loomer: But there's something even more sinister than Ron DeSantis hoping for all of these last minute rule changes and procedural gimmicks and bending of the rules in order to get closer to the White House.
Loomer: You see, Ron DeSantis is hoping that Donald Trump is ultimately jailed before the GOP primary can take place so that the playing field is cleared so that Ron DeSantis can be the GOP
nominee. And it's up to us, the American people, to keep on informing our friends, informing our neighbors, and informing our fellow peers in society about the truth.
Loomer: They need to know who the real Ron DeSantis is, and people really need to ask themselves, do you want a president of the United States who is going to bribe people in order to obtain political power?
Loomer: Or do you want a presidential candidate, somebody to be your future president who admires and values merit, as opposed to just bribing people and paying people under the table and behind closed doors to get to where they want to be.
Loomer: And unlike Ron DeSantis, who clearly doesn't value merit because he's too busy bribing his way to get to the top, President Trump recognizes merit and he appreciates hard work.
Loomer: In fact, following the publication of my exclusive report this week in which I documented and exposed the fact that Bob Vander Plaats organization received $50,000 from the Never Back Down Super PAC just days before Ron DeSantis participated in his forum and received his support for President.
Loomer: President Donald Trump actually sent me a note. Take a look.
Loomer: You see, days before the forum actually took place, Bob Vander Plaats took to Twitter to attack President Trump for not attending his forum.
Loomer: However, I shot back at Bob Vander Plaats and said, “Why would President Trump want to attend your stupid ass forum when you're anti Trump and pro DeSantis? Why should he subject himself to your bias and lies? Here's your own tweet. You don't look very neutral to me. You're a Never Trumper and a delusional DeSimp. See the receipts”
Loomer: To which Donald Trump replied in a handwritten note to me, saying, “Laura, you are really great! Donald.”
Loomer: And then, of course, he said, “So true!” with an arrow to my reply to Bob Vander Plaats tweet. So thank you. President Donald Trump, for recognizing good journalism. And thank you, President Donald Trump, for actually having merit and integrity and not relying on political bribery and financial bribery in order to obtain the presidency.
Loomer: The American people are sick and tired of the uniparty establishment, donor class controlling our destiny in this country.
Loomer: There is only one word to describe what it means to pay people for their political support, and that is bribery. It's illegal and we should have an absolute zero tolerance policy for it here in our country, especially when we're deciding who is going to be the next president of the United States.
