Donald Trump Raises $7.1 Million Since His Booking in Fulton County Jail

Politico: Donald Trump has turned his Georgia mugshot into a record-breaking fundraising haul. The former president has raised $7.1 million since he was booked at an Atlanta jail Thursday evening. On Friday alone, Trump raised $4.18 million, making it the single-highest 24-hour period of his campaign to date, according to a person familiar with the totals (Politico). Associated Press: The record haul underscores how Trump’s legal woes have been a fundraising boon for his campaign, even as his political operation has spent tens of millions on his defense. The mounting legal charges have also failed to dent Trump’s standing in the Republican presidential primary, with the former president now routinely beating his rivals by 30 to 50 points in polls (Associated Press).

Los Angeles Mayor Says Illegal Immigrants Are Not Invited to Her Sanctuary City
Daily Wire: A little over two months ago, the Los Angeles City Council voted to officially become a “Sanctuary City” in the “Sanctuary State” of California. Now, L.A. Mayor Karen Bass (D) is saying that illegal aliens aren’t invited to the City of Angeles — in stark contrast to her prior statements. Bass’ newfound opposition comes after Texas Governor Greg Abbott has spent months busing illegal immigrants to LA (Daily Wire). Reporter Marla Tellez: 10th bus from Texas arrives in Los Angeles carrying  39 migrants, including 12 families + 21 children. The 10th bus comes 5 days after the last. Earlier this week, Mayor of LA Karen Bass told me “LA has not extended an invitation asking for people to come. This is a political act” (Twitter).

Former Ukraine Prosecutor Claims Bidens are Corrupt
Fox News: In an exclusive interview with Fox News, former Ukrainian Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin detailed the involvement he believed President Biden, the then-vice president, played in his firing and how it involved Hunter Biden’s business dealings. During the interview with Fox News’ Brian Kilmeade, Shokin said he was ousted in 2016 because he was investigating Burisma, the Ukrainian natural gas company where Hunter Biden served on the board. Shokin also claimed that Joe and Hunter Biden accepted bribes in the case, and that the then-vice president ultimately hurt America’s reputation and created the groundwork for Russia to invade Ukraine (Fox News). Daily Mail: Viktor Shokin, 70, said: ‘I have no doubt that there were illegal activities engaged in by Burisma’ – the natural gas firm he had been investigating when he was pulled as prosecutor by Ukraine’s then-president in 2016. The bombshell claims were made to Brian Kilmeade on Saturday’s ‘One Nation’, in an interview that saw the former chief prosecutor also assert he was twice poisoned by those trying to keep their actions quiet (Daily Mail). Townhall: Shokin told Kilmeade that Burisma illegally sold, produced, and utilized natural gas supplies. Internal Obama-Biden Administration emails revealed that officials were shocked that Biden was pushing for Shokin’s ouster as a condition of U.S. aid. Hunter Biden’s former business partner, Devon Archer, told the House Oversight Committee last month that Burisma hired the president’s son so “people would be intimidated to mess them.. legally” (Townhall).

Two Year Anniversary of Afghanistan Withdrawal on Saturday
Townhall: Two years ago, in 2021, a suicide blast ravaged the streets of Kabul’s international airport, killing 13 American service members. To this day, the families who lost their loved ones feel President Joe Biden has ignored their pleas for answers on the deadly event. Mark Schmitz’s son, Lance Corporal Jared Schmitz, was killed in the aftermath of the botched U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan. In a statement to Fox News, he expressed his frustration that Biden has refused to answer whether the bomber could have been counteracted before the attack. The father accused Biden of withholding crucial information on the attack that led to his son’s death (Townhall). Rep. Mike Waltz: On this day two years ago, 11 Marines, 1 sailor & 1 soldier were killed in a suicide bombing at Abbey Gate, along with more than 160 Afghans. We will never forget these brave service members nor the sacrifices of their loved ones (Twitter).

Waters said at a press conference on Saturday night. “This shooting was racially motivated and he hated black people,” he said. The shooter, who the sheriff said was a white man in his 20s, killed himself after killing the victims, all black individuals (National Review). Attorney Marina Medvin: DeSantis condemns the mass shooting in Jacksonville and calls the shooter a racist “scumbag” and coward (Twitter).

President Biden’s Approval Ratings Remain Low Among Americans
Hill: A majority of Americans in a new Gallup poll disapprove of President Biden’s handling of immigration, the economy and relations with China and Russia as he campaigns for another term in the White House. The poll found Biden’s overall job approval rating at a relatively steady 42 percent, with 53 percent disapproving. Less than a third approve of his job on immigration and relations with China, at 31 and 32 percent, respectively. Just 37 percent each approve of his handling the economy and relations with Russia (Hill). RNC Research: Just 37% of Americans approve of the way Biden is handling the economy. “If people are saying that in polls, they’re not happy — so how do you keep getting that message out?” Biden campaign co-chair Cedric Richmond: “We have to keep telling them about what we’re doing” (Twitter).

President Biden to Ask for Additional Funding for More Covid Vaccines, Possibly Mandate Boosters
Hill: President Joe Biden on Friday said he plans to ask for more funding from Congress for the development of a new coronavirus vaccine. The announcement comes as a recent rise in COVID-19 cases in some regions has resulted in the return of mask mandates by some entities in the U.S. Hospitalizations due to COVID-19 have also risen in the past few weeks as well (Hill). Townhall: The new vaccines, developed by Pfizer, Moderna, and Novavax, have been re-designed to target the dominant XBB variants that magically popped up just in time for the general election. The jab is expected to be rolled out sometime in mid-September. The Democratic Party is again fear-mongering Americans into thinking the virus is a threat (Townhall).

Progressives Rejoice as Birthrates Dramatically Drop
National Review: For most of human history, people could agree that children were a blessing. Religion reinforced the idea, borne out by experience. In the past, shorter life expectancies, higher rates of childhood mortality, brutal living conditions, and the absence of social-welfare programs made it harder to take family for granted. Yet for as long as this pro-natalist culture has existed, so too have political forces seeking to undermine it. The overpopulation anxiety is hardly new. Nevertheless, a new form of anti-natalist thinking is creeping into the minds of Western policy-makers. As birth rates plummet across the developed world, some are cheering on this development as positive, even necessary… Fewer young people means less innovation, a smaller labor force, a more vulnerable military, as well as less tax revenue to support pensions and health-care costs. This results in greater pressure on the existing population. Earlier this year in France, protests ensued after the retirement age was raised from 62 to 64 years old. Think of the public’s reaction when there’s cause to push it to 70, or even higher. That’s where we are headed (National Review).

Eighty-one of them (50.3 percent) have been convicted “of at least one count of sexual assault or sexual abuse” (Townhall). Legendary Television Host Bob Barker Passes Away at 99
USA Today: In his 35 years as emcee of “The Price is Right,” Bob Barker changed in only one appreciable way: He stopped dyeing his hair in the early 1990s, two decades into the game show’s long and storied run. Barker has died at the age of 99, according to his publicist Roger Neal. In a town where longevity is rare, Barker broke records for stamina. As “Price,” which became synonymous with Barker, emerged as TV’s longest-running game show, Barker eclipsed Johnny Carson as the medium’s most resilient host. In an industry where trendiness trumps reliability, Barker was unusual in that he did one thing and he did it very well, for decades. Barker won 18 Daytime Emmys, as well as a Daytime Emmy Award for lifetime achievement in 1999. In early 2004, he was inducted into the Television Academy Hall of Fame. Guinness World Records twice named him TV’s Most Durable Performer (USA Today). Adam Sandler: The man. The myth. The best. Such a sweet funny guy to hang out with. Loved talking to him. Loved laughing with him. Loved him kicking the crap out of me. He will be missed by everyone I know! Heartbreaking day. Love to Bob always and his family! Thanks for all you gave us (Twitter)! Rob Schneider: One of the nicest things I ever heard in showbusiness was Bob Barker saying, “I moved to Hollywood to be an actor and the only person who ever let me do it was Adam Sandler!” This scene with them was and will always be absolutely hilarious! God bless you, Bob (Twitter).
