Erica Stanford in Ōtaki
Join us on Wednesday at 5.30 in the RSA. The bar will be open and
Erica will speak about education and we'll take questions on whatever
you'd like to talk about. If you haven't met Erica before you'll want
to - not to be missed.
Better local healthcare
Lots of you joined us last week for a public meeting with Dr Shane
Reti where he talked about National's plans for health.
We also visited local clinics meeting nurses, doctors, support
staff and more. Dr Shane and I are working together on a plan to
deliver more healthcare closer to home. This includes options for
things like chemo and day surgery to be delivered in our region, not
travelling to hospitals like Palmerston North and Wellington. You can
be sure that if I'm your local MP this is something that will remain
top of my list.
Waitlists are a huge problem that have got out of control under
Labour, and are one of our three priorities for health along with
improvements to preventative care and growing our workforce, including
more GPs. More
details here.
Get involved!
Only seven weeks to go and we need a strong team to get over the
line. Can you help me with one of these?
- Sign waving (on the side of the road - it's more fun than you
might think!)
- Morning sign checks (checking on the ones in your area for
damage)
- Attending debates (see the details below)
- Polling booth scrutineers (we need a bright friendly face in each
polling booth)
Contact our amazing
volunteer coordinator Lorraine if you can help.
Public debates
We've had amazing crowds for our recent public meetings with
Christopher Luxon (and Shane Reti, Nicola Willis, Todd McClay, Mark
Mitchell and more).
I'll be taking part in the following "Meet the Candidates" debates
and I'd love some strong support in the room please:
- Sep 10, 3pm. Horowhenua Rate Payers, Levin (venue TBC)
- Sep 12, 2pm. Speldhurst
- Sep 14, 2pm. Kapiti Retirement Trust, Midlands Gardens
Village
- Sep 20, 4pm. KYS Pizza and Politics (youth event)
- Sep 22, 1.30pm. Horowhenua Greypower. Levin Cossie Club
- Sep 27, 6pm. Kapiti Greypower. Southwards Car Museum
- Sep 28, 6pm. Kapiti Rotary (members event).
Finally, here are a few photos from the last week, ranging from
Judo in Paraparaumu to an amazing youth theatre production in
Levin.
Thank you for all the support. If you were ever thinking of getting
involved, now is the time! I'm really grateful.
