FIRST: When Hilary Franz stepped into office, the Washington State Department of Natural Resources’ wildfire fighting capabilities were described as the “do not respond” agency.

THEN: Hilary laid out a plan to secure historic new resources, develop a 20-year forest health plan, and give our firefighters the training, skills, and equipment needed to safely fight worsening wildfires.

NOW: Washington is a national leader in wildfire fighting and prevention and forest management, all while creating sustainable-good paying jobs and delivering for our communities.
