Paid for by Nikki Budzinski for Congress

Hey there, I want to take a moment and share a bit of my story with you, but if you’re short on time today and want to support my work to fight for families across Central and Southern Illinois, please consider pitching in before Thursday’s August fundraising deadline now.

I was born in Peoria, Illinois, and grew up surrounded by the same kinds of folks that I now represent in Congress.

My grandpa was a union painter, and my grandma was a public school teacher. They built honest, middle-class lives with those jobs.

With their guidance, I developed a passion for supporting working people, which led to me joining the labor movement shortly after graduating college.

I traveled across the country fighting to get firefighters, grocery workers, and meatpackers better training, wages, and the workplace safety protections they deserved.

I’ve seen firsthand the challenges plaguing working families, and I’ve witnessed the middle-class life afforded by my grandparents slip away for countless Illinois families.

That's why I ran for Congress — to ensure working families in Central and Southern Illinois would have a voice in Washington.

Thanks to this grassroots team, we flipped this seat, and I became the first woman to represent Illinois’ 13th Congressional District.

Since then, I’ve been meeting with constituents to hear what issues matter most to them, and working across the aisle to break through partisan gridlock to deliver meaningful results for our families and communities.

But now, I’m up for reelection, and have two Republican challengers vying to flip this seat and reverse our progress.

Election Day may seem far away, but national Republicans are already planning to invest heavily in this race to unseat us — so we need all hands on deck in the fight to reelect me for another term in Washington.

That’s why I’m humbly asking: Friend, ahead of Thursday’s fundraising deadline, will you chip in $10 or any amount to keep me fighting for working families in Washington?
