John, that’s one of the first lessons I learned at the Naval Academy. You put the mission first, and you put others before yourself. These values are core for me, and they're what this fight for our common good is all about.
Fighting for our common good means putting people first. And as long as I’m in Congress, you can count on me to never lose sight of that mission.
But I can’t say the same about House Republicans. With Kevin McCarthy at the helm, we’ve seen how their party is beholden to huge corporations and right-wing extremists, and they’ll put those interests over our common good every single time.
That’s why they’re so willing to turn their backs on our nation’s veterans. It’s why they’re unashamed in their attempts to carve out tax loopholes for mega-corporations while leaving everyday Americans in the dust. It’s what keeps them from reaching across the aisle to find common sense solutions on the issues hurting working families.
