Do you think Trump should be disqualified from becoming president?
|
|
John,
In March 2022, CREW filed a lawsuit to remove New Mexico Commissioner Couy Griffin from office and disqualify him from holding future public office.
In September 2022, a New Mexico judge ordered Griffin to be removed from office, ruling that Griffin’s participation in the attack on the Capitol disqualified him under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, known as the Disqualification Clause.
The Disqualification Clause bars anyone who engaged in insurrection after swearing an oath to the Constitution from holding office.
John, that applies to Donald Trump, too.
So we have one question for you:
Do you think Trump should be disqualified from becoming president?

Nearly four years to the day after swearing an oath to the Constitution, Trump incited an insurrection that culminated in a violent attack on Congress.
That disqualifies him from holding public office. CREW is ready, willing and able to take action to make sure the Constitution is upheld and Trump is prevented from holding office.
But we want to know if our supporters in Washington agree. So please respond to our quick poll to share your thoughts today →
Thanks for responding,
