Good afternoon, and welcome to the Weekend Update.



This week's big news was again Biden and the Democrat’s weaponization of the Justice Department and extreme liberal prosecutors' efforts to go after his top political rival, President Donald J. Trump. Radical District Attorney Fani Willis is a politician charging President Trump to advance and fundraise for her own political career. Willis is a biased, extreme Democrat who spread conspiracy theories about Georgia’s elections. In 2020, she questioned whether ballots in Fulton County were being thrown out due to a water leak.







In 2018, Willis suggested several times that election issues occurred… because her favored candidate, Stacy Abrahams, lost.







In 2020, she even agreed with false posts saying that only “white people” were voting, suggesting they make up “116 percent” of the voting pool.







Does anyone see the hypocrisy in Willis’ actions against Trump for questioning the validity of the 2020 election results in Georgia? On Wednesday, I watched the first presidential debate hosted by Fox News. I also watched President Donald Trump’s interview with Tucker Carlson on X, formerly Twitter. This week, I met with the Wilkes Barre VA with State Treasurer Stacy Garrity and Congressman Matt Cartwright to address the ongoing treatment of veterans and urge them to improve their policies. I also toured their community living center and met some brave veterans who help to lead the very important Vietnam Veteran group.

On Thursday, I was honored to attend the Greater Pittston Chamber Dinner, recognizing my good friend Joe Burke and the law firm he leads, Burke Vullo Reilly Roberts Attorneys at Law. Pictured with the partners and my brother Scott Meuser, Chairman and CEO of Pride Mobility Products Corp.







After the event at the chamber, I went to support our friends in the state senate at an event for Majority Leader Joe Pitman.







It was great to join The American Petroleum Institute, representatives from its member companies, and other energy-related businesses for a roundtable discussion this week at the Lackawanna College School of Petroleum & Natural Gas in Tunkhannock. We had a productive conversation about the issues facing Pennsylvania's oil and natural gas industry, particularly the need to reform permitting processes. I also highlighted several initiatives in Congress that would benefit the American energy sector – chief among them being the passage of H.R. 1, the Lower Energy Costs Now Act.











IN NEWS YOU WON’T HEAR IN THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA: Biden’s “accomplishments” are anything but. This week, the Biden White House outlined <[link removed]> “accomplishments” of the Biden presidency. That is all spin. In reality, they







The only thing Biden has accomplished is delivering misery to Americans:



- HISTORIC INFLATION: On a year-over-year basis, inflation has averaged 6.1 percent <[link removed]> under Biden — twice the level of inflation under any of the last four presidents — and remains more than double <[link removed]> what it was when Biden took office. As a result, Americans have seen prices surge by 16.9 percent <[link removed]> and real wages decline by about three percent <[link removed]>. As Americans pay substantially <[link removed]>more <[link removed]> for just about everything, the average real wealth for middle-class households is down more than $33,000 <[link removed]> in the past year.





- SUPPLY CHAIN SHORTAGES: For months, Americans struggled to find basic necessities like baby formula <[link removed]>, diapers <[link removed]>, and medications <[link removed]> due to Biden’s incompetence — and it’s not expected <[link removed]> to return to normal anytime soon.





- BOTCHED AFGHANISTAN WITHDRAWAL: Biden promised <[link removed]> the exit from Afghanistan would be done “responsibly, deliberately, and safely.” Instead, 13 U.S. servicemembers <[link removed]> lost their lives, American citizens were left stranded <[link removed]>, and billions of dollars <[link removed]>of military equipment <[link removed]> was left behind for the Taliban in one of the worst <[link removed]> foreign policy blunders in our nation’s history.





- DRAINED OIL RESERVES: America’s emergency oil reserve <[link removed]> has been drained to its lowest level in four decades <[link removed]> — and Biden is doing nothing to fix it.





- RECORD GAS PRICES: Under Biden, all 50 states and the District of Columbia have set new record high prices <[link removed]> under Biden as the nationwide average for regular gas — $2.39/gallon <[link removed]> when Biden took office — has only gone up.





- RECORD CREDIT CARD DEBT: Americans’ credit card debt has reached $1 trillion <[link removed]> for the first time ever as more people fall behind <[link removed]> on their credit cards, auto loans, and personal loans than at any time since 2009. Meanwhile, interest rates are at their highest <[link removed]> in 22 years.





- LOWEST K-12 TEST SCORES IN DECADES: Students have fallen <[link removed]>behind <[link removed]> at an alarming rate under Biden, with overall test scores falling to their lowest levels <[link removed]>in decades and math scores “plunging by the largest margin ever recorded.” <[link removed]>





- RECORD HOMICIDE RATES: At least a dozen <[link removed]> major U.S. cities — all of them Democrat-run <[link removed]> — have set new homicide records during the Biden presidency as violent crime <[link removed]>surges <[link removed]> in Democrat-run cities <[link removed]> across the country. In fact, 27 of the top 30 cities <[link removed]> with the highest murder rates are run by Democrats <[link removed]>.





- VACATIONS: Biden has spent 379 days <[link removed]>, or 40 percent of his presidency, on vacation — and is on track to outpace <[link removed]> each of his modern predecessors.





- SKY-HIGH ENERGY BILLS: Americans are paying thousands of dollars <[link removed]> in higher energy costs as Biden makes good <[link removed]> on his promise <[link removed]> to end American energy independence. Meanwhile, 20 million households <[link removed]> have fallen behind on their utility bills.





- BORDER CRISIS: More than 7.2 million illegal immigrants <[link removed]> have crossed the border since Biden took office, including at least 1.4 million “gotaways” <[link removed]> who vanished into the country. Additionally, at least 146 individuals <[link removed]> on the terror watchlist have been arrested at ports of entry so far this fiscal year — a MASSIVE increase <[link removed]> from the previous administration — as illegal drugs flow into the country at an alarming rate <[link removed]>.





- WEAPONIZATION OF GOVERNMENT: Biden has leveraged the power and scope of the executive branch to target parents at school board meetings <[link removed]>, pro-life Americans <[link removed]>, Catholics <[link removed]>, and policy critics <[link removed]>.



The vast majority of Americans <[link removed]> do not want Biden to run for re-election, and it’s easy to see why.



Biden’s “accomplishments” are more like blunders.



Biden's economic policies are the driver behind inflation, thanks to excessive spending and complex regulations keeping prices elevated. While Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell offers an uncertain economic forecast, it's clear that Bidenomics is fanning the flames of inflation. We recognized National Fentanyl Prevention and Awareness Day this week. We remember all of the lives lost to this deadly drug. Fentanyl overdose has tragically become the leading cause of death for Americans aged 18-45. We must secure our border to curb the flow of fentanyl coming into our country.







Finally, two years ago today, we tragically lost 13 brave servicemembers in Afghanistan.



Let us never forget their great sacrifice while wearing our nation’s uniform. We honor their memory and their dedicated service to our country.
