John,
I founded the Congressional Mamas’ Caucus a year ago. We’re centering mothers of color in the policies we champion in Congress, from reducing poverty and closing the racial and gender wealth gaps, to ensuring a national paid family and medical leave program, to investing in affordable childcare, to establishing healthcare equity and housing for all.
We’ve built power in Congress this past year, and we have many efforts in store for the year to come because our communities urgently need support.
Our social safety net has left too many families behind, and the racism in our country’s institutions has further failed families of color. The costs of raising a child in our country are among the highest in the world, and the U.S. is also one of the only industrialized countries that does not offer a single day of paid family or medical leave.
So the Mamas’ Caucus is committed to making sure that mothers have a seat at the table where policy decisions are being made. Together, we’re building a long-overdue social safety net for our nation’s working-class families and children.
Could you chip in $5, $25, $50 or more to join me in the fight for working-class families across our country?

John,
We just celebrated the one-year anniversary of the congressional Mamas’ Caucus, which I founded to advocate for mothers of color and working families. We’re making sure that mothers have a seat at the table where policy decisions are being made.
We’re fighting for equal pay, because moms make just 62 cents for every dollar dads make. After having a child, we often face bias, career interruptions, and lower pay—the “motherhood penalty.”
Due to systemic racism, Black and brown moms earn even less money to provide for their families, and Black women are also in the midst of a maternal health crisis.
We’re fighting to close these racial and gender wealth gaps and to secure a national paid leave program, high-quality childcare and early education programs that pay providers a living wage, and reproductive justice.
We’re also advocating for policies to reduce poverty, including my bill, the End Child Poverty Act, which would provide families with a $428/month payment per child, cutting deep child poverty by over 93%.
The cost of raising a child in our country is among the highest in the world, which is why the Mamas’ Caucus is fighting for the bold and needed changes that working-class families and families of color deserve.
Will you chip in $5 or more so we can ensure that working-class families have the resources they need to thrive?
