This discovery by the NWSS coincides with the period during which the Biden administration has been actively acquiring additional COVID-19 equipment.

Per The CDC:

A U.S. wastewater sample that was collected as part of routine monitoring in the National Wastewater Surveillance System (NWSS) has preliminarily indicated the presence of the BA.2.86 variant.

Scientists are investigating this sample and will continue to closely monitor wastewater for further or more widespread evidence of BA.2.86.

NWSS is one of multiple monitoring systems CDC uses to detect variants within the United States, and is meant to be used with other COVID-19 public health data to better understand COVID-19’s spread.

While the CDC didn't specify the exact location of the positive wastewater sample, they did mention that it was identified during routine monitoring conducted through their National Wastewater Surveillance System.

A report published on Saturday morning states that the US Department of Health and Human Services has unveiled new funding for a $1.4 billion initiative designed to enhance protection against Covid-19.

InfoWars released insider information alleging that both the TSA and US Border Patrol would revert to COVID-19 mandates and restrictions resembling those from 2020. These measures are said to be in effect from mid-September through mid-October and include the implementation of mask mandates on all flights. Additionally, Morris Brown College in Atlanta, GA, and Lionsgate Studios in Santa Monica, CA, have officially reinstated mask mandates. Notably, a school district located just outside of San Antonio in South Texas temporarily closed due to a surge in COVID-19 cases.

During the same week, Natalie Winters of WarRoom revealed the allocation of millions of dollars in funding, primarily directed towards the Department of Veteran's Affairs and the Department of Defense (DoD), intended to bolster testing and address other COVID-19 related matters.

This development occurred just a week after Dr. Jeanne Marrazzo, a strong advocate for mask usage, lockdowns, and vaccine mandates, was appointed to replace Dr. Fauci at the NIH.

Adding to the speculation of a potential upcoming lockdown, the US Department of Health and Human Services announced a funding allocation of $1.4 billion on Tuesday. This funding is aimed at "supporting the development of new tools and technologies for long-term COVID-19 protection," according to an official press release.

HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra emphasized that "Project NextGen" is a crucial component of the Biden-Harris Administration's commitment to safeguarding against COVID-19 variants. He highlighted that the initiative accelerates efforts to expedite vaccine development and ensure the availability of effective treatments.

"Project NextGen," a $5 billion endeavor led by ASPR's Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA) in collaboration with the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), collaborates across government sectors and the private industry to advance innovative vaccines and treatments into clinical trials, regulatory evaluations, and potential commercial release for the American populace. The project builds upon an in-depth understanding of COVID-19, with HHS actively developing, utilizing, and continually assessing the strengths and weaknesses of existing vaccines and treatments over the span of three years.

Recipients of the awards include:

  • $1 billion to four BARDA Clinical Trial partners to support vaccine Phase IIb clinical trial studies: ICON Government and Public Health Solutions, Inc of Hinckley, Ohio; Pharm-Olam, LLC, of Houston, Texas; Technical Resources Intl (TRI), Inc, of Bethesda, Maryland; and Rho Federal Systems, Inc., Durham, North Carolina.

  • $326 million to Regeneron to support the development of a next-generation monoclonal antibody for COVID-19 prevention.

  • $100 million to Global Health Investment Corp. (GHIC), the non-profit organization managing the BARDA Ventures investment portfolio to expand investments in new technologies that will accelerate responses in the future.

  • $10 million to Johnson & Johnson Innovation (JLABS) for a competition through Blue Knight, a BARDA-JLABS partnership.

Among the recipients of the awards, the press release highlights a partnership with Regeneron to develop a "novel monoclonal antibody" designed to protect individuals who may not respond to or are unable to receive existing vaccines, despite previous attempts to limit its distribution in Florida in 2021.

Furthermore, President Joe Biden announced on Friday his intention to request additional funding from Congress for the development of a new COVID vaccine that he asserts will be effective.

Biden conveyed, “I signed off this morning on a proposal we have to present to the Congress a request for additional funding for a new vaccine that is necessary, that works,” while speaking to reporters during his vacation at Lake Tahoe.

He cautioned that the new vaccine would likely be recommended for everyone, regardless of their prior vaccination status, underlining the necessity for broad protection.
