I'm the kind of person who tries not to jump the gun when it comes to disasters and emergencies. I like to look at all the facts and think about the different ways things may have happened as opposed to plunging into panic and slamming the door to the bunker.
But more and more, both Cat Ellis and I are becoming convinced that this outbreak is NOT a drill. It has all the warning signs of becoming the next deadly global pandemic that will affect each of us in some way, whether it's becoming ill, watching a loved one become ill, or the financial
impact this is already beginning to have on the world's economy.
Here's why we believe this to be the case and what you need to do to get prepared for the possibility of city-wide lockdowns and quarantines.
I hate writing stuff like this. I don't like to make "predictions." But I'm also not blind to what's going on around me and I have spent at least 8 hours a day for
the past month researching Covid-19, how it's spreading, and what is happening in other countries to get a handle on the trends that go along with this.
I hope Cat and I are wrong, but unless a major discovery occurs to change things, the folks in charge simply have in no way contained this highly contagious outbreak and it's just a matter of time before we begin to see clusters here. This will result in quarantines and lockdowns and YOU need to be ready before they make an announcement and the unprepared rush out and clear the shelves of anything useful.
