Today is Women’s Equality Day in the United States, commemorating the Nineteenth Amendment of the Constitution.

Dear John,

It’s Women’s Equality Day in the United States and unfortunately women are still not guaranteed equality in the US Constitution. We’re sorry to break it to the 24% of you who believe women have constitutionally guaranteed full, legal equality. The good news is the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) would change that, and so much work is being done to finally get it passed.

Equality Now will not stop pushing for legal equality, and today we’re asking you to join us in commemorating Women’s Equality Day by starting a monthly gift in support of women everywhere.
Start your recurring gift today. ([link removed])

Now even younger groups are joining and uplifting the cause, so there couldn’t be a better time to support our work to pass the ERA. ([link removed])

According to our recent poll, 200+ of you are concerned about female genital mutilation, abortion access, LGBTQ+ rights, child marriage and more, which the Equal Rights Amendment would help to address if adopted into the constitution.

Thank you to the 246 of you who have taken our online action to tell Congress that we need the ERA. If you want to help advocate for the ERA in more ways, starting a recurring gift to Equality Now is one of the best ways to keep the ball rolling on this advocacy. We won’t stop working toward constitutional equality; we hope you’ll continue supporting us.

Thanks from Equality Now.
