Sign: Stop sexist, racist attacks on Fani Willis

Dear james,

Media coverage of Donald Trump's latest indictment in Georgia by District Attorney Fani Willis has been shot through with sexist and racist attacks and double standards that baselessly question Willis's character and qualifications.1

Even mainstream news outlets like The Washington Post have echoed and legitimized sexist stereotypes that have no place in our political discourse.2 These attacks have contributed to threats against Willis and other women of color involved in Trump's prosecutions.3

We're sick and tired of it and are calling on major media outlets to end the sexist and racist double-standards that remain so widespread in our news media.

Will you sign our petition calling on the mainstream media to end the sexist and racist biases harming Fani Willis and other women leaders and people of color?

Sign The Petition

The minute Donald Trump was indicted by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, right-wing media launched a vicious barrage of sexist and racist attacks against her.

Newsmax commentator Dick Morris said she's only indicting Trump because "She's African American." Conservative commentator Charlie Kirk called Willis a "thug." Pro-Trump conspiracy theorist Jack Posobiec posted a photoshopped picture of Willis's head on a nude photo of Lizzo. Trump himself falsely accused her of having an affair with a gang member.4

Even more outrageous is that the mainstream media has elevated and repeated sexist double-standards as well. The Washington Post, for instance, dismissed the indictment--the only one brought by a woman--as "one too many" and suggested that she's merely "piling on" and that "at some point it becomes unfair" to Trump.5

Give. us. a. break.

Worse yet, it's not just Fani Willis facing these attacks. U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan, New York Attorney General Letitia James, and Georgia election workers Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss--all women of color involved in Trump's prosecutions--have been the targets of vicious hate and death threats.6

UltraViolet Education Fund has been successful in calling out sexist and racist media bias in the past, but right now, with so many women and people of color in danger, we must speak out again loud and clear.

Sign the petition demanding an end to racist and sexist media bias against Fani Willis and other women and people of color--and then share it with your friends to help keep it going.

Thank you for joining us in the fight for safety!
