Johh
Today, on Women's Equality Day, we commemorate the passage of the 19th Amendment of the Constitution and reflect on the work we have ahead of us.
At its core, the 19th Amendment stands for trust — our country finally trusting women to have a voice in our government and make decisions about their future. But today, we are facing unprecedented attacks on our rights.
For nearly my entire life, I've been fighting to protect reproductive freedom and ensure every woman has the right to make healthcare decisions for herself. Last year, the historic Roe v. Wade ruling was overturned and since then, GOP led states have been restricting abortion rights.
And at the first Republican presidential debate earlier this week, extreme candidates made it clear they want to go further – floating a complete federal abortion ban and more restrictions on our reproductive rights.
This is not acceptable, Johh.
Our rights are built on the legacy of the fearless women before us who chose to take a stand and fight for progress. Today, on Women's Equality Day, we must remember the power we hold as sisters and the duty we have to fight for one another. We've come a long way, but together, we will move this country forward into a better and brighter future for us all.
