On Monday, we launched our Summer Campaign, and while all our fundraising drives are essential, there’s an even greater sense of urgency around this campaign than usual.

Our costs are up across the board, which puts a lot of pressure on our already very tight budget. Meanwhile, donations to nonprofit organizations declined by a whopping 13% in the last year, the most significant drop ever recorded—and Common Dreams has been affected by that trend, just like everyone else.

But there’s no time for us to dwell on these problems because there’s just too damn much work to do. The planet is on fire. American democracy is hanging by a thread. The Supreme Court is shredding 100 years of progress on voting rights, racial justice, and women’s equality.
