It’s hard to believe that in a country founded nearly 250 years ago, women
have only been allowed to vote for a little over 100 years.

But that’s what we’re celebrating today, in equal measure: How far we’ve
come, but also how far we’ve left to go.

Honestly, it pretty well encapsulates our mission here at Women’s March.

We know that when we come together and organize, when we take to the
streets and make our voices hard, when we speak out against injustice and
fight for what we know is right — we can win.

We’ve recently had some huge victories in places like Wisconsin and Ohio,
but we know that anti-choice extremists and far-right bigots are only
ramping up their attacks on reproductive freedom, and we have to be ready
to fight back with everything we’ve got, at every turn, in every state.

Today is a celebration of what we’ve accomplished to improve circumstances
and opportunity for women, but it’s also a recognition that not only is
there more work to be done, but that it won’t happen on its own.

Our promise to you, John, is that Women’s March will always be
ready to take to the streets, mobilize, and fight on behalf of women,
equality, and justice. [ [link removed] ]If you support Women’s March and you’d like to
