Endorsement Update!

Josh is a steadfast supporter of teachers, students, and North Carolina’s public education system. That’s why he couldn’t be prouder that the North Carolina Association of Educators continues to support Josh’s candidacy!

Here’s some of what NCAE President Tamika Walker Kelly had to say in her latest op-ed for the Fayetteville Observer:

“When he is governor, I know Josh Stein will bolster public education from pre-kindergarten through community college and university, including our HBCUs, and ensure that when students graduate from high school, they have the skills and knowledge to succeed, whether starting college or a career. And he’ll fight to raise teacher pay to at least the national average, while standing up for all staff that keep our schools running, including school nurses, counselors, janitors and bus drivers.”

Tell the NC GOP: Pass a budget!

Josh has also been paying close attention to the General Assembly’s Republican supermajority’s failure to pass a budget.

Our state budget was due by July 1st, but even though Republicans control both chambers of the Assembly, they still haven’t come to an agreement to fund our state.

That means teachers don’t know how much they’re going to be paid, parents don’t know if there will be enough school bus drivers to get their kids to school, and Medicaid Expansion hasn’t yet been enacted.
