The Russian invasion of Ukraine has meant that Europe's role in promoting those objectives has never been more under the spotlight, yet the United Kingdom has never been more on the sidelines due to its post-Brexit isolation.
Our featured speaker, Robin Ashby, will be discussing the importance of maintaining our European relationships for future of the next generation and the wellbeing and security of our country, drawing on his decades of experience.

Biography
Robin established the UK Defence Forum in 1996 as a medium for politicians, defence professionals, members of the armed forces and others with an interest in defence, security and peace issues to exchange information and views on future challenges for Britain's defence and safety.
Robin is the Secretary General EuroDefense UK as well as the Convenor of Liberal Democrats Friends of the Armed Forces and the Managing Editor of the Defence Viewpoints blog.
He is a long-time passionate pro-European activist who joined the Liberal Party in 1963. He served as a Councillor on Middlesbrough Borough Council, standing as a Parliamentary Candidate twice in 1983 and 1987 and, since 2014, has served as a Newcastle City Councillor.
