It wasn't enough for Trump to directly attack endangered species. Now he's going after the laws that protect millions of acres of wetlands and streams across the country — and endangered species will pay the price with their lives.

The Chiricahua leopard frog and southwestern willow flycatcher could see their habitat poisoned or paved over within months.

This is the largest rollback of the Clean Water Act since the law was passed in 1972. Slashing these laws to the bone puts wildlife across the country at risk.

Trump is now exposing about half of all wetlands and potentially millions of miles of streams to destruction. His new rule allows polluters to pave over wetlands and dump pesticides, mining waste and other pollutants directly into these now-unprotected waterways.

Leaked documents from an EPA analysis show that more than 90% of the waterways in places like Arizona and New Mexico could lose protection.

Species from Chinook salmon to the Rio Grande silvery minnow and yellow-billed cuckoo could lose the water they need to survive.

We're in the midst of a heartbreaking wildlife extinction crisis — losing about one species every hour. To save wildlife and ecosystems, we need more protection, not less.

This is a critical moment for endangered species — and indeed the water that is crucial to our survival. With Trump threatening our water supply and assaulting the Endangered Species Act, it will take all we’ve got to keep lifesaving protections in place.
